A DVD (Digital Versatile Disk) is an optical storage device that may replace other media of storing portable data.
DVD Video holds video which can be played on a DVD player. The data are compressed using lossy compression in MPEG-2 format.

A DVD-ROM is the same size as CD-ROM, but stores from 4.7 to 17GB of data.
