Heads Up Display (HUD)

Post  admin on Fri 23 Jul 2010, 2:57 am

A head-up display, or HUD, is any transparent display that presents data without requiring the user to look away from his or her usual viewpoint. The origin of the name stems from the user being able to view information with his head "up" and looking forward, instead of angled down looking at lower instruments. They were initially developed for military aviation, but HUDs are now used in commercial aircraft, automobiles, and other applications.

A headset is a headphone combined with a microphone. They are used in call centres and by people in telephone-intensive jobs because they leave both hands free to perform other tasks, such as typing. Many people use headsets at the computer so they can converse and type comfortably.
