Video data combines image and audio data displayed over time. Video data starts with a continuous event and breaks it up into discrete frames. When looked at in detail, video data is simply the displaying of image data at a constant frame rate (25 FPS is the norm). This is then accompanied by audio data to give the video sound. It is because of the wide variety of data that video data is the largest and most space-consuming form of data. Animation starts with independent pictures and puts them together to form the illusion of movement. MPEG is a family of formats for compressed video that has become the standard for many applications. QuickTime? is a video and animation format developed by Apple Computer.
