Text And Numbers In Digital Format

Keyboards are input devices utilising the ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) code. Each key on the keyboard is assigned a code in ASCII, which is transmitted as digital data when the key is pressed. The ASCII code is written in binary, and is converted into a letter or symbol before being displayed on a Visual Display Unit (VDU).
